Angry parents of prospective university entrants are staging a
peaceful protest in front the University of Lagos (UNILAG) over the
school’s rigid cut-off mark policy.
It was gathered that the institution maintained a cut-off mark of 250 for those seeking to gain admission into its academic programmes. Unilag’s position is at variance with the new pronouncement by the Joint Admission & Matriculation Board (JAMB) on July 14, 2015, that the cut-off mark for admission into the Nigerian university has been reduced from 250 to 180.
The parents insist that the 250 mark was unacceptable, as it will disqualify their children from participating in the post-UTME screening that would determine their admission into UNILAG.
