Dr. Sam Amadi the Chairman/CEO of Nigerian Electricity
Regulatory Commission (NERC) has revealed that the body will be issuing
query to the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company for contacting a
foreign firm to supply meters for customers rather than patronizing
local manufacturers.
Dr. Amadi revealed this stance today in an interview with Channels TV’s breakfast show Sunrise Daily. He said unless Ikeja Electric shows valid evidence that the locally manufactured meters were not up to standard and too expensive, NERC will hit them with a query.
Inside Mainland Newspapers contacted the Head of Communications Strategy of the Ikeja Electric, Mr. Pekun Adeyanju, who strangely denied what was widely aired on television.
